    Overall Tire/Tyre Review

The Pirelli Diablo Superbike is a race slick. It is consistenly rated as one of the top tires. The Diablo Superbike has a more flexible carcass than the Dunlop UK NTEC. Some feel the track feedback is better than the NTEC and others feel the tire flex as the tire losing grip. If you like a more flexible carcass consider the Diablo Superbike. If you like a stiffer carcass consider the Dunlop UK NTEC.

One rider says they stick like glue and wear really well. Another says the handling is brilliant, no stability issues, neutral but still quick turn-in. After 65 track kilometers tire showed little wear.

Another prefers the Pirelli Diablo Superbike slick over the Michelin Racetec slick. The front provides very good feedback.

One rider used warmers and still had tearing problems. Another who raced with the tires says the tire temp is very important with these tires and they don’t like many heat cycles.

One rider got his best times on the 190/60 medium slick. It slid a bit, but was predictable. Had run 50 sets. Said if anything set pressures higher, because at lower temps the tire shreds.

Lap times have improved by more than 1 second each lap over previous tire version (last year 16.5 inch, this year 17 inch.

One rider feels the Pirelli Diablo Superbike tire is quite a bit better than the Pirelli Pro. Felt the Pirelli provided more feedback than the Dunlop NTEC.

Pirelli’s are tire of choice. Good feedback on track surface, likes the wear. Slightly less grip than Dunlop NTEC, but progressive traction loss so prefer over Dunlop NTEC.
