    Tire/Tyre Description

Intuitive Response Profile (IRP) intuitively allows greater latitude in line choice while cornering and provides amazingly linear steering at all lean angles. Radical profile puts down a bigger footprint at extreme lean angles, and allows greater lean angles and higher corner speeds for substantially better grip and handling. Advanced Multi-Tread technology combines a tough, long-wearing center compound for increased mileage with a special lateral-grip compound on each shoulder for superior cornering traction. New carcass construction includes new continuous hex beads that are lighter and stronger to enhance steering response and increase cornering stability. Q2 rear tire features stiffer Jointless Band (JLB) construction with a continuously wound aramid belt for reduced carcass distortion.

    Overall Tire/Tyre Review

The Dunlop Sportmax Q2 is praised for its stick. Some say this is the best traction non-race tire. This comes at the detriment of tread life, but riders feel this is a fair tradeoff.

    Reviews by Source Rear Tire

9 reviews. 5 of 5 stars. One rider reports getting 4,000 miles from the tire, extremely grippy and handles well in the twisties. Another says these tires are the stickiest non-race tires they have used, remains stable under hard braking and sticks to the road when driving hard out of the turn, tires wear fast – on an R6 got 2 1/2 track days. Another says the best thing they like is how smoothly they turn in and transition. Another says the tire hooks up better than any non race tire, if you ride bigger than a 600 the tire won’t last as long as you would like. On a CBR1000RR – tire has great, confidence inspiring traction, totally stable and grippy on track and street, got 3,000 miles. On a YZF R6 – performs better than Bridgestone that came with the bike, lasted 4,000 miles. Front Tire

4 reviews. 4.5 of 5 stars. One rider reports the tire made a world of difference on handling right away, took very little time to scrub-in, work great in both wet and dry.
