    Overall Tire/Tyre Review

Motorcycle USA completed a test of various tires. This tire had the softest feeling carcass of the test group. The flex and soft carcass was not seen as a positive from the tire mounter or the testers. Had to stop the test after 9 laps due to safety concerns. On the plus side, the front and rear tire weight were the lowest of the group.

Softest feeling carcass of the test group. Grip from front not the best, corner exit drive grip from rear was bad and got progressively worse as the day continued. Quote from the tire mounter “the Avon tires literally fell on the rim. It was so soft that I could have mounted it by hand. I’ve never seen a tire with such flex and soft carcass. To be honest it was almost scary.” Had to stop the test after 9 laps due to safety concerns. On a positive note, the front and rear weight was lowest of the group.

2 reviews. 4.2 of 5 stars. On a 2007 Yamaha R1 – tried several different tires, traction and handling the best with these tires, rear lasted 4000 miles, front had 20% left, like them better than BT003.
